Project name: Triennial Tree Sculpture
We were contacted by a German Artist to fabricate a steel sculpture for the Folkestone Triennale 2021. Work commenced in November 2020 and was undertaken in stages so the artist could have plenty of input during fabrication. The tree was fabricated from different tubular sections ranging from 300mm o/d to 100mm o/d.
All steel sections were scalloped to fit inside each other to form the trunk and branches.
As soon as the tree was fabricated, and all limbs were tacked into final positions welding commenced and was completed in roughly 60-man hours to fully weld the tree into position.
